DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY

Bună ziua!, welcome to Romania! You will be met at Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) Arrivals, by your local sighted guide.

Get ready to explore a vibrant capital where history and modern life blend seamlessly. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your 4-star hotel, where you can unwind and settle in. Your sighted guide will help you check in and do a room orientation. Here you can have some time to unpack and relax before you meet again to run through your holiday itinerary one more time together.

In the evening, enjoy a relaxed start to your journey with a delicious dinner in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town, surrounded by charming architecture and lively atmosphere.

DAY 2: BUCHAREST

Your sighted guide will meet you at the hotel ready for a lovely traditional breakfast in your hotel.

Experience a half-day city tour of Bucharest, where the capital’s vibrant energy and rich history come alive through sound, touch, and scent. Stroll along the bustling streets, listen to the lively buzz of the cafés, and feel the texture of the city’s historic buildings as you explore the shops and boulevards.

You’ll visit the Museum of History, where tactile displays and audio guides bring the past to life. Enjoy a wine tasting, where you’ll not only taste the local wines but also hear the fascinating stories behind them.

For lunch, you’ll have the chance to experience the city’s flavors in one of its many accessible restaurants.

After a rest and freshen-up in the hotel, in the evening, indulge in dinner at one of Bucharest’s finest dining spots, where every bite will be a new sensory experience.

DAY 3: TRANSYLVANIA

After breakfast, we depart from Bucharest, where we’ll journey to Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle, once the summer residence of Queen Mary, where you can explore the rich textures of the castle’s walls and hear the fascinating stories of its past. Following the visit, we’ll continue our adventure into Transylvania, with a scenic hike through the rolling hills of Moeciu or Pestera villages. Feel the gentle breeze on the mountain tops, the earthy scent of haystacks, and listen to the sounds of local life—farmers at work and the natural surroundings creating a peaceful atmosphere.

The rolling hills will lead us to a serene picnic, where you can taste local treats while immersed in the countryside. Afterward, enjoy some free time to relax and explore the area. 

After a rest and freshen-up in the hotel, in the evening, indulge in a cozy dinner at a local restaurant in the Moeciu-Bran area, where you can enjoy authentic regional flavors in a warm and inviting setting.

DAY 4: HIKE

Today, we will explore Piatra Craiului National Park, one of the most breathtaking natural areas in Transylvania. The hike begins in Zarnesti Gorge, where you’ll feel the coolness of the forest air and listen to the symphony of nature surrounding you—birds chirping, leaves rustling, and the distant sounds of flowing water. As we ascend to Curmatura Hut, nestled at the foot of the North Ridge, the serenity of the mountains will surround you. We’ll take a break at the hut, where you can enjoy a warm drink like tea or coffee while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Later in the day, you’ll be guided through a cooking workshop at a local guesthouse, where you’ll learn to prepare papanasi, a delicious Romanian dessert. Feel the texture of the dough, the warmth of the ingredients, and the satisfaction of creating something special with your hands.

In the evening, we’ll head to a cozy local restaurant in the Moeciu-Bran area for dinner. Here, you can enjoy the region’s rich and authentic flavors in a welcoming, sensory-rich atmosphere.

DAY 5: SIBIU

After breakfast, we’ll transfer from the Moeciu-Zarnesti area to Sibiu, one of Romania’s most beautiful cities. Along the way, we’ll stop at the oldest water mill in Tara Fagarasului, dating back to 1873. Feel the texture of the historic mill and listen to the soothing sounds of the flowing water, while enjoying a home-made lunch prepared on-site, giving you a true taste of the local traditions.

We will then take a delightful steam train ride through Hartibaciului Valley, passing by Saxon villages and offering the opportunity to hear the landscape as we pass the majestic Fagaras Mountains, also known as the Transylvanian Alps.

We will arrive in Sibiu in the late afternoon, giving you free time to explore the city at your own leisure. In the evening, enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant in Sibiu, where you can savor the rich flavors and warm hospitality of this charming city.

DAY 6: SIBIU

Start your day with a Sibiu city tour, where you’ll feel the energy of the Big Square, surrounded by historic buildings, and cross the Bridge of Lies, known for its intriguing legends. The sounds and atmosphere will immerse you in the city’s rich history and charm.

Next, we’ll head to Sibiel village, where you’ll visit the Museum of Icons on Painted Glass. You’ll hear the stories of each icon and experience the artistry behind the painted glass. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a relaxing horse and buggy ride, feeling the gentle sway as the horses move through the village, with the sound of hooves on cobblestones adding to the peaceful atmosphere.

For lunch, we’ll stop at Maria’s, where you can savor a home-made meal, filled with authentic local flavors. In the afternoon, we’ll transfer back to Sibiu, giving you time to unwind and explore the city on your own. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, experiencing the delicious tastes of Sibiu’s cuisine.

DAY 7: BALEA

Enjoy another beautiful day in Sibiu (also known as Hermannstadt). In the morning, we’ll transfer by bus to the Balea Waterfall, where you can feel the refreshing mist in the air as you listen to the powerful rush of water cascading down the rocks. The sound of the water and the cool breeze will immerse you in the natural beauty of the area.

Next, we’ll head to Balea Lake, located at an altitude of 2000 meters, where you can take in the crisp mountain air and the peaceful surroundings. If the Transfagarasan road is open, we’ll drive along this winding mountain route, offering a variety of sounds as we pass through the landscape, created by the former dictator Nicolae Ceausescu.

We’ll then enjoy a hike to Capra Lake, where you can feel the beauty of the natural world around you, with mountain views, fresh air, and the peaceful sounds of nature. After our hike, we’ll return to Balea to relax before transferring back to Sibiu in the late afternoon. You’ll have time at your leisure to explore the city. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant, where you can savor traditional Romanian flavors.

DAY 8: DEPARTURE DAY

After breakfast, we will help you check out of your accommodation and do a final room check.

It’s time to say goodbye to Sibiu. We’ll transfer back to Bucharest, enjoying a scenic drive through the beautiful Olt Valley, where the sounds of nature and the changing landscape provide a peaceful farewell. Upon arrival in Bucharest, our journey comes to an end.

We will drive you to the airport. Airport assistance will then help you through the airport and onto the plane for your journey home, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Romania’s rich history and stunning natural beauty.

This trip cannot take place unless there are 4 participants booked 60 days prior to departure.

FLIGHTS

Flights are not included in the price. Price range between £120 – £200 per person.

We advise you to fly to Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) between 5 – 6 pm to be met by a Seable staff member

If you arrive/depart at a different time, a transfer will be pre-booked for a fee and you will meet the Seable staff member at the accommodation

The return flight time suggested is Ryanair:

Upon booking, we require a 30% nonrefundable and nontransferable commitment deposit, which is fully refundable and transferable only if the trip does not go ahead.

CONFIRMATION & BALANCE

You will receive the holiday confirmation and final invoice 3 months before departure.

4 weeks prior to departure you will receive the itinerary, packing list and final details.

We provide all the visa information upon booking.

Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry.
