DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY

Buongiorno, welcome to Sicily! You will be met at Catania Airport Arrivals, by your sighted guide.

A quick 30-minute drive to your accommodation in a little village called Aci Trezza, your sighted guide with help you check in and do a room orientation. Here you can have some time to unpack and relax before you meet again to run through your holiday itinerary one more time together.

Then, depending on the time, you can go for a little walk around the village, where you will discover its legends. Finished with a delicious local dinner in a restaurant close by.

DAY 2: WINERY

Your sighted guide will meet you at the hotel in the morning and join you for a traditional Sicilian breakfast, think warm bread, fresh pastries, and rich local coffee.

Enjoy a slow, relaxing start to the day with some time by the pool to unwind and soak up the Mediterranean warmth through your senses, the scent of citrus in the air, and the sound of distant church bells.

Late morning, we’ll depart for our first winery visit: a renowned Winery, located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. You’ll be guided through the vineyard’s unique grape varieties, such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, with a hands-on and sensory-rich explanation of each.

Your wine tasting will be paired with a carefully prepared food experience, featuring:

• A cellar tour with tactile and olfactory elements

• Four wines from the current vintage

• Sicilian cheeses and vegetable preserves

• Local cold cuts and olive oil tasting

• Grilled pork sausage with potatoes and sautéed spinach

• A traditional Sicilian cannolo for dessert

• Mineral water and freshly baked bread

Afterwards, we’ll return to the hotel for an afternoon rest or a refreshing swim. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner in a local traditional restaurant nearby, offering the comforting flavours of home-style Sicilian cooking.

DAY 3: WINERY

Your sighted guide will meet you at the hotel for another warm and traditional Sicilian breakfast. The morning begins at a relaxed pace, with time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and perhaps a swim or rest by the pool.

By late morning, we’ll head to our second winery.

• Be welcomed by their knowledgeable team for a guided sensory tour of the vineyards and cellar, focusing on touch, smell, and sound to convey the environment and traditional winemaking process.

• Experience a wine tasting session specially guided to highlight the characteristics of their Etnean wines. You’ll be introduced to the story behind each wine, the grape varietals used, and how they reflect the local terroir.

• Enjoy a multi-course lunch experience, crafted entirely from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Each course is designed to complement a specific wine – not the other way around – making for a truly unique pairing.

• Dishes will reflect the richness of Etna’s culinary traditions and will be described in detail to ensure all guests enjoy a fully immersive and informed experience.

After lunch, we’ll return to the hotel for a restful afternoon, with optional poolside relaxation. Dinner this evening will be in a cosy, family-run Sicilian trattoria, offering comforting local dishes and a welcoming atmosphere.

DAY 4: WINERY

Your final winery day begins with a relaxed traditional breakfast at the hotel, followed by a peaceful morning by the pool, allowing time to unwind and take in the fresh Etnean air. Your trained sighted guide will be on hand throughout to assist and describe the morning’s atmosphere, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable start to the day.

In the late morning, we’ll travel together to the last Winery of the holiday.

You will be welcomed for a guided tour of the vineyard and estate, where you’ll gain insight into the history of winemaking on Etna and learn how the landscape has shaped the cultivation of local grape varieties over generations. The experience is interactive and designed to be inclusive, with tactile elements and rich verbal descriptions provided by winery staff.

Following the tour, enjoy a guided tasting of four carefully selected wines, each one from a different Contrada on Etna, highlighting the distinct characteristics of each area. These wines will be thoughtfully paired with a curated selection of gourmet Sicilian delicacies.

This immersive session offers a unique opportunity to deepen your sensory appreciation of wine and develop a greater understanding of Sicilian viniculture in a setting of warmth and hospitality.

After the experience, we’ll return to the hotel for a final evening meal at a local restaurant nearby, a time to relax, reflect, and celebrate the tastes and memories of your Sicilian wine journey.

DAY 5: DEPARTURE DAY

Time to say Arrivederci Sicily!

We will help you check out of your accommodation and drive you to the airport. Airport assistance will then help you through the airport and onto the plane for your journey home!
